The Bench Trail is a trail that begins and ends on the Los Robles Trail. The trail is marked on the COSCA trail map, but is not named. I took the liberty of naming the trail for the fact that there is a bench about two-thirds of the way in on the trail that provides a spot to sit and rest and also offers some nice views.
The trail begins less than a quarter mile west of the Janss Fire Road on the Los Robles Trail. The trail heads downhill for about 100 yards before reaching a short steep uphill. This section of trail is eroded and loose. Watch your step as you climb.
After reaching the top of the steep section of trail the trail continues uphill, but on a gentler grade. Views of the Los Robles Trail below and to the south begin to open up. As you continue uphill views of Thousand Oaks begin opening up to the north as well.
Finally you reach the top and head down hill. The trail bends to the left and you discover that after the short downhill you are faced with another steep uphill. The uphill isn't very long. Just past the top of the hill you'll reach the bench that I named the trail after. This is also the part of the trail that offers the best views.
From the bench the trail heads mostly downhill for a little over 100 yards before ending at a junction with the Los Robles Trail.
