Named after the street that the trailhead can be found on, the Los Padres Trail is a short trail that travels through a forest of oak on its way toward the Janss Fire Road. The trail starts out flat as it meanders along a seasonal creek. Poison oak can be found along this section of trail so watch out for it.
After about a quarter mile you will reach the first of three bridges that pass over the seasonal creek. After crossing the bridge the trail briefly heads uphill before leveling out. After a few yards the trail then makes a hard left and heads over the second bridge.
After crossing the bridge the trail makes a hard right and heads up a short steep hill. The trail then levels out briefly. Again, there is much poison oak here so watch out. The trail drops down briefly for another creek crossing. Interestingly, there is no bridge here, but a few yards beyond this crossing there is a small bridge that does not span the creek.
After crossing the last bridge the trail heads up three steep switchbacks. After passing the third switchback the trail travels about twenty yards further before dead ending into the Janss Fire Road.
